Goochland County, Virginia, is the first rural county located west of the Richmond metropolitan area.  The major roads running east-to-west through the County are Interstate 64, U.S. Route 250, and State Route 6.  The main road running north-to south through the County is U.S. Route 522.

The County Seat is the village of Goochland, located in the central part of the County, in which is located the Circuit and Combined District Courts, and all County offices
